Members Holiday Art for Sale Exhibit
The JRAC 7th Annual Members Christmas Art For Sale Exhibit is another unique event sponsored by the Jordan River Arts Council Board of Directors. The exhibit will open, Saturday, November 25.
Over 40 member artist are participating with all media represented such as paintings, drawings, photography, prints, book art, jewelry, pottery, fiber arts, dolls, glass, greeting cards, and ornaments. All are one of a kind items offered at a wide variety of prices which can be taken at time of purchase. Some gifts are designed for young shoppers. Gift wrapping is available.
The opening will feature a sampling of appetizers from “Flavors and Visions: A Collection of of Art and Recipes From Northern Michigan Artists and Art Enthusiasts.” This magnificent publication, edited by Nancy Carey, contains over 200 wonderful recipes submitted by members, with each page richly illustrated with art by area artists. Many of the recipes and much of the art have been part of previous openings and exhibits. An example of the book will be on exhibit and may be ordered, being available for Christmas giving. This book is a fund raiser for JRAC with proceeds used to support the many programs which they sponsor.
Also patrons may sign up for Door Prizes provided by the participating artists and will be entertained with Christmas Music by Margaret Thomson.
The Christmas Tree has been donated by Rocky Top Farms of Ellsworth and the Christmas Centerpiece donated by The Backdoor Florist of East Jordan. The Fireplace is provided by Poineau Woodworkers, Inc. to complete the festive setting.
