A Fun Time Christmas at JRAC

Member artists of the Jordan River Arts Council have created a wonderful shopping experience in the galleries; not only their fine art works but also fun items for patrons to purchase for their Christmas giving. Over 50 artists' original works are on exhibition, all for sale, ranging in prices from $1.00 for stocking stuffers to $1000 fine art pieces.

Interviewing the set up persons, Sherry K. Marshall, Dick Cunningham, and Peggy Midener; Sherry Kay said, “There is so much, more than a 1000 selections”; Peggy, who has hung many exhibits said, “Where do we begin?”; and Dick said, “Just tell me, let's begin.” These persons have displayed the art work beautifully, all easily visible and accessible for immediate purchase. Boxes and wrapping are also provided.

Found in the exhibit are many tree ornaments all displayed on a live tree donated by Rocky Top Farms. Also there are many Christmas items from tree skirts, aprons, stockings, cards, and other assorted decorations. There are wall hangings, paintings, prints, night lights, lamps, glass, bird houses, t-shirts, scarves, other fiber items and a great variety of jewelry. Especially interesting are the plastic clay jewelry of insects by the Chairperson of the show, Babs Young. Children will enjoy checking out the painted stone Santa Clauses, and snowmen by watercolorist, June Storm.

Each patron, including children can sign for the door prizes that have been donated by the artists. Donating their art work are: Florence Peterson, Babs Young, Jacky Trimble, Sherry K. Marshall, Bob Walker, June Storm, Dick Cunningham, Linda Blair, Marcia Waara, Phyllis Burcz, Chad Pastotnik, and a gift certificate from Kit Carson, Petoskey. The drawing will take place December 15.

The exhibit will be be open daily from 1-4 pm until December 15 at the Jordan River Art Center, 301 Main St., East Jordan. The Center will remain open, Thursday evening, December 7 during the downtown festivities of East Jordan. Children will be able to make a Christmas decoration. Refreshments will be served.
