The Jordan River Arts Council is pleased to announce their upcoming Annual Scholarship Exhibit opening May 18th, 2008 at the Jordan River Arts Council in East Jordan. Each year the Arts Council has the honor of hosting several scholarships and awards available to High School Junior’s and Senior’s. The Betty Osborne Memorial Scholarship for $1,500, The Pearl in Hand Scholarship for $1,000, The Huckle Award for $750, and three honorable mention awards for $100 each.

To be eligible to participate you must be a Junior or Senior living in Antrim or Charlevoix County. Student’s competing for Scholarship money must be a high school senior continuing onto college to study Fine Arts. The Huckle Award and honorable mention awards are open to both Junior’s and seniors, regardless of their area of study.

Applications will be sent to the surrounding Art Educators and School counselors in March and currently available on-line at the Jordan River Arts Council website.

The deadline for applications is April 11, 2008. Students can enter up to five of their best work.

The Awards Ceremony and Opening will be at the Jordan Rivers Arts Center, 301 Main Street on Sunday, May 18th, at 1:00 p.m. with the show closing on Friday, June 6th.
