large scissors for cutting paper and/or fabric

Fabric

We will be working on two designs. Our first (static) blocks will be like the quilt pictured. This project will require black and white print fabrics and some splashes of bright colors. Try to collect 9 different prints--some black on a white background, some white on a black background. You will only need a small amount of each: 1/8 yard or leftover scraps. Scraps of bright colors can enliven the blocks, a 5" square of each color would be sufficient.

For our second project (erratic), bring 1/8 or 1/4 yard cuts (or scraps) of at least 5 different medium to dark fabrics and 5 different light fabrics. The light fabrics should have different values (white, cream, ecru, for example....or light colors with a variety of color depth). These fabrics can be in your choice of colorways.
