Jordan River Arts Council Building Turns 100!
February 6, 2015 our building, an original Carnegie Library turns 100 years old. Throughout 2015 the Jordan River Arts Council will be celebrating this birthday. We hope that our East Jordan community and our broader area community of artists and art lovers will join us in these celebrations. You are invited to a
Birthday Party!
Saturday evening 7-10
February 7
The Jordan River Arts Council
We are looking forward to a big turnout as we host a party to celebrate the 100th birthday of our lovely old Carnegie Building. It will be a fun- packed evening. Roger Lilak and fellow band members will provide music. The upstairs gallery area will be cleared for listening, dancing, and having a great time. Downstairs there will be refreshments. The latest plans for proposed building improvements will also be on display. Although we’re known for our excellent and creative art exhibits, come on over Saturday evening and find out what a great party we can throw. Admission is FREE but any donations to our building fund will be gratefully accepted. We are looking to seeing many old friends and making some new ones. See you February 7th!
100 Years 100 Artists
Sunday, March 1, we will open the first exhibit of 2015. In honor of the 100th birthday of our building we will fill the gallery with 100 pieces of art from 100 different artists. This will be a fantastic show. 100 artists will be invited or juried in. We hope to include many who have shown work here in the past. We will also include art by artists who are no longer with us but whose support for our arts council we will always treasure. As we look back, we also want to look forward and hope to have artwork from artists new to our gallery. All media are accepted and work can be for sale or not as the artist chooses. Invitations to participate will be sent in early January. Interested artists are encouraged to contact Cynthia Tschudy: 231-544-6167 or Babs Young :
