Two artists of renown, one a two dimensional artist the other a sculptor will compliment each other exhibiting examples of their lifetime works.
BETTY BEEBY, of Eastport, was a former staff artist for Time/Life magazine, author of a best selling book, Breath Escaping Envelopes, Film artist for CBS television / Captain Kangaroo, created the mural in Mackinac City Bridge Visitors Center, has illustrated many books receiving many awards. Her work can be found in numerous collections including the Mazza Museum of original art for children's books.
WALTER MIDENER, deceased, husband Of Peggy Midener, East Jordan, received a Doctor of Fine Arts from the Center for Creative Studies College of Art and Design where he taught and was instrumental in most of its programs. He was an artist, educator, patriot, forced to flee from Nazi tyranny, devoted his life to the quest for beauty and truth. Midener’s sculptures are found in major collections in the US including The Whitney Museum and the Detroit Institute of Art.
The exhibit opening reception is October 4 and the show runs until November 6, 2009. The exhibit will open from 1:00 to 4:00 each day. Call 231-536-3385 for more information.
