An invitational exhibit, Equine Divine or Horsin’ Around , will open January 14 with a reception for artists and friends and will feature works in a variety of media. Highlighted will be a ceramic sculpture, “Muse” , by Catherine Shinnick. Her work was recently featured in the October issue of Ceramic Monthly. She is currently artist-in-residence at EMU’s Jean Noble Parsons Center for Advanced Study, a wildlife preserve in Lake Ann Michigan. Also on loan from Susan Galbraith are photographs by Linda McCartney and Robin Galbraith. Other artists participating are: Kim Aikens, Joan Cromley, John Davies, Doug Delind, Liz Kantzer, Meredith Krell, Glen McCune, Peggy Midener, Ann Mohr, John Stevens, Sylvia Walworth, Vivian Wanless, and Melissa Zelenak.

“Horse Tale” Just for Kids At JRAC
In collaboration with the Jordan Valley District Library, Cathe Hahn, author of a children’s book, “Step Up! A Mackinac Island Tale” will present a program, Wednesday, January 24, 4 pm. This book tell the story of a team of three Belgian horses that work and live on Mackinac Island. JRAC will provide a tour of the exhibit with a hands on experience for youth.
