It's time for the first show of 2007 - hope your holidays were blessed with friends and family. We're looking forward to a great show on Saturday, January 12th with two artists from the Ann Arbor area. Help us by praying for good driving weather!!

Our performers for January 12th are:

Chris Buhalis
From Alaska's whiskey-soaked bars to the spark and steel filled auto plants of Detroit, Buhalis' songs speak of real people in real situations. An accomplished performer and songwriter, Chris' current circuit focuses on the Midwest and Texas playing major festivals and leading clubs. He has toured with Ray Wylie Hubbard and shared the stage with Guy Clark, David Bromberg, Chris Smither, Dave Van Ronk, Catie Curtis and Jimmy LaFave. Chris was also honored to have Townes Van Zandt make a rare cameo appearance on his current release, "Kenai Dreams". Chris continues to live and play on a farm outside Ann Arbor, MI.

Dave Boutette
Dave Boutette’s Midwest is full of passion, humor and shakey grace. With a full band or solo acoustic, Boutette's performances are engaging, exhilarating and often peppered with stories culled from his times on the road and his years growing up in the shadow of Detroit. Before stepping out on his own, Boutette spent ten years with the Detroit-based alterna-rock bar kings The Junk Monkeys. The band toured the nation relentlessly, supporting acts such as the Goo Goo Dolls and Hootie and the Blowfish, while recording under the Warner Bros./Metal Blade label from 1990-93. Boutette has found a new home on Embassy Hotel Records. Confetti, Dave’s first effort for the Embassy organization, can be found along with other merchandise and vital information at www.embassyhotelrecords.com. Recently he has been busy assembling on a dare, the Sugarbeat Cowboys, an all-star-rockin’-zydeco party band.

As always, we invite you to share your talents at Open Stage, immediately following our scheduled performers. No need to be shy -- you're in good company!

Admission is $7 and refreshments are complimentary. You are, of course, always welcome to bring food to share too.

We are located again this year at the Jordan River Art Center, on the 3rd block of Main Street in East Jordan.

We begin at 8:00 p.m. and sing until 11:00.

Please help spread the word about this community event - tell a friend, bring a friend, announce it to the groups with whom you're involved, shout it in the streets, offer to hang a flier, but above all, come and enjoy the show!

We're looking forward to seeing you all in this new year!
