Scholarships and other awards will be presented Sunday, May 14, 1:00 pm. at the Jordan River Art Center, 301 Main St., East Jordan. Each year the Arts Council has the honor of hosting the Betty Ann Osborne Memorial Scholarship and the JRAC Huckle Award. With added pleasure a new scholarship, “The Pearl in Hand Scholarship” from artist Betty Beebe.

Juniors and seniors from the surrounding communities have the opportunity to exhibit and compete in the juried show for the three scholarships and honorable mentions. “It is a fine way to recognize the very gifted and talented artists we have in the area, and to assist those choosing to further their interests in the arts, stated chairperson Sara Vrondran. “Those donating scholarship monies are incredibly excited to see students with such passion, and are grateful to help them with their future.”

Each student submitted five entries for the exhibition which runs until May 28. The Center is open daily from 1-4 pm. For more information contact Sara Vrondran, 231 536 0918.
