The galleries at the Jordan River Arts Center are bursting with color where over 250 duct tape works are on exhibit until May 8. Viewing the exhibit patrons can only smile and express amazement and awe. Gallery hours are from 1-4 daily. It should be noted if persons or student groups wish to view the exhibit at other times please call John Stevens, curator, 231 582 6399.
Besides the students participating in the project, many school students have visited the art center not only to experience the exhibit, but also create with duct tape. Every subject matter has been created in both two and three dimension. Special in the exhibit is the giant 12 long, 7 high Inseto with a 12 wing span created by nine East Jordan High Art students. There is an entire wall of patriotic works, and a group of Michigan animals in 3D.
The Charlevoix County Community should receive a special thanks for the major funding for this educational project.
