Peggy Midener and Bonnie Staffel were among those of the arts community that received a 2003 eddi Award established by the Crooked Tree Arts Council in recognition of eddi Offield who was not only an artist, but an outstanding benefactor and advocate for the arts in Northern Michigan.

Peggy, a JRAC Board member, along with her late husband, Walter Midener, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Peggy and Walter have been an integral part of the arts in Michigan, starting out as renowned artists and teachers in the Detroit area and then bringing their expertise and passion to Northern Michigan. We are especially grateful for all the work Peggy does for JRAC. Her work can always be found at JRAC and currently the Northern Michigan Artist Market.

Bonnie, a longtime JRAC member received the Visual Artist Award. In addition to being an excellent artist making beautiful pottery, she is also a teacher to many wonderful potters in Michigan, the U.S., and around the world. She shows frequently at JRAC and currently her work can be seen at the Northern Michigan Artist Market and Crooked Tree Art Center in Petoskey.
